  1. Contact the Federal Trade Commission (FTC): You can report the incident to the FTC using the online complaint form on their website or by calling their toll-free hotline.
  2. File a Report with Local Police: You should also report the identity theft to your local police department.
  3. Place a Fraud Alert on Your Credit Reports: Contact one of the three major credit bureaus (Experian, Equifax, or TransUnion) to place a fraud alert on your credit reports.
  4. Consider a Credit Freeze: A credit freeze prevents potential creditors from accessing your credit report without your permission.
  5. Monitor Your Credit Reports: Keep an eye on your credit reports for any suspicious activity.
  6. File Your Taxes Early: If your SSN is compromised, an identity thief may use it to get a tax refund or a job.
  7. Consider an Identity Protection Service: There are companies that offer services to help you monitor your credit and other aspects of your identity.
  8. Review Your Social Security Earnings Statement: Create an account on the Social Security Administration's website to review your earnings statement.

As part of your subscription, we automatically remove your data from hundreds of sources, including public breach sites. This process starts as soon as you subscribe, so there's nothing extra you need to do—it’s all included.

How to Track the Process:

  • Digital Footprint View: We’ve made it easy to see what’s happening with your data removal. In your Digital Footprint view, you can track the progress in real-time.

Thank you for being a valued part of the Pentester community.

As part of your subscription, we remove your data from hundreds of sources, including public breach sites. It all happens automatically and is included in your subscription.

We recently released a whole new UI which brings transparency to this process and simplifies everything for our users. Inside your Digital Footprint view, you can track the progress, and if we need anything, you should see messages and we'll send notifications for this.

In addition to that, if you want to use any of the tools like DarkWatch or IdentityIQ, you can do that from the left sidebar in the "Tools" area.

Great question! The data sources actually have 45 days to respond by law. With that said, you will notice removals in weeks if not days. We are at the mercy of the data source unfortunately, but are on it!

Yes, we do have options for MSPs. As an affiliate, you have two options:

  1. You can set up an account as a user on pentester.com, and add your clients under your master account. We charge $5 / target and the initial $49 includes 1 target. From here, you can run reports on a specific client target, and charge them as you see fit. This has been a profitable option for Managed Service Providers, Web Development Companies, and Consultants. White-labeled reports are also available.
  2. If you prefer to forward people along to us where they will set up their own unique account for $49 + $5 / target then we can give you a promo code to share. This way they receive a small discount, but it will also allow us to track referrals. From there, we will offer the first month paid on any signup, and 10% of any future engagements with that client (manual testing, red team engagements, etc).

We are currently working on a data removal product specifically for people outside of the USA. You should see that update in the next few weeks on your digital footprint page. We'll also be rolling out some options for social media removals.

The scans for your footprint will still run, social profiles will be identified, you'll have access to all the normal tools in the system, and we will work on removal from public breach sites, you just don't have the data removal available at the moment. We're also working on updating the UI for now to make that more transparent.

Yes - within all of those listings, none of them are related to you at all? We made a decision to not only remove profiles identified that contain all of your information, but also profiles that may include some of your information. This way, we are technically "over removing" as opposed to "under removing".

Does this make sense? It is a common issue, especially for those with common names, but we are going to remove as much as possible.

Thanks for your patience! While it can take a few days for the scan to start, rest assured that we’re on it. If there’s any delay in completing the scan, our system will automatically reinitiate it to ensure everything gets checked thoroughly.

If you have any questions or need further assistance, we're here to help!
